The "8 to 5" fluorescent retrofit kit
I'd been meaning to find one of these unusual failed experiments from the early 2010's for a while - such kits were marketed briefly during those years but sold poorly as they were fairly unattractive, a bit of a hassle to install and were usually of a poor quality... This is no exception. Surprisingly, there is still a London Underground station that has 1 or 2 of these kits in use - although the station name currently escapes me.

Have this kit an integrated ballast or the lamp working on the existing ballast of the fixture?

Interesting find, seems strange to see one of these now! They were sort of the pre-LED era LED tubes. Despite being fluorescent I still don't like these any more than LED tubes - ultimately just use the proper tubes the fitting was made for!
