Thorn Super Nova recessed 28w 2D fittings I spotted these today not far from me, it seems they are still keeping the fittings going for now with cheap modern lamps. These to me look like a Thorn product, but I am not 100% sure.

Interesting, is there no form of glass covers in case the lamp drops off its mount clips?

I recon these would have had some kind of domed or round dropped glass bowls on once upon a time. Probably long sionce smashed on the floor....
