Mercury globe fittings in a station
These light the entrance of Great Portland Street underground station, they seem to me to be mercury or SBMV based on the colour, but they could be PL fittings with yellowed covers I suppose. There was 1 over the entrance running HPS, but my phone couldn't capture it.

What intrigues me is that it looks like we can see a shadow of an arc tube support frame (unless there's some sort of diffuser in there - but seems unlikely with opal globes). Which would suggest a clear lamp, so could these be absolutely hammered halides?

I reckon these are very well used clear MH lamps probably run well beyond their rated lives. What's in those nice bulkheads on the walls?
