Very rare Thorn Gamma 2 lantern for 2ft 40w tubes

I was very surprised indeed to find this incredibly rare Thorn Gamma 2 lantern (along with the remains of another) in a private carpark a stone's throw away from where I'm currently living, I had walked past several times and had never spotted it! These lanterns take the rare (nowadays) 2ft 40w tube and were much more common in the 1960's and '70s. This is a lantern I've always wanted to see in person but had never come across one as they are very rare indeed. Sadly saving it appears unlikely...
