Duralamp 10w 2D lamp
Spotted in Aurora + Kontakt, Amsterdam. Highly unusual indeed, as I was not aware of any companies besides Thorn and later GE ever manufacturing 10w 2D lamps. I suppose this also goes to show that fittings for 10w 2D lamps must have seen very limited popularity outside of the UK too - I myself have a Thorn 10w 2D adapter that I found in Spain and have heard of an Italian collector who came across some 10w lamps and fittings.

Interesting, a non-Thorn/GE 10W lamp still made in the same size and shape as one. Usually when you see an non-Thorn/GE (so generic Chinese) they are basically a scaled down 16W lamp using a base the same design as one just smaller.

I'm sure someone has found some of these before. Given the popularity (or lack of) with the 10w 2D lamp, I'm surprised anyone else ever copied them. I thought GE had phased them out completely, long before the patent expired. I could be wrong however...

Out of curiosity, is this warm white? I think the others that someone else found were something like white, or cool white

I wonder if these were made to fill the gap when GE stopped making them? GE originally stopped but then for some reason restarted production in around 2010 I believe for a few more years, making them in China this time.
