AC Ford AC850/AC888 lanterns (York)

Following my move to York for the coming year, what better celebration than to spend my 2nd ever day in the city walking around taking pictures of street lanterns? Lol! Featured here are two classic mercury lanterns: The AC Ford AC850, and the AC888 (its top-entry counterpart). Unfortunately I believe these two lanterns no longer work...

Ah you have found some of Yorks survivors Very Happy

I always enjoy seeing all these whenever I visit, sadly over the last 10 years many have been lost but a good few do still remain! If number 13 is the one I am thinking of then you probably took that photo from a walk around the walls? Cool

Ah, that's a shame, although compared to other places around the UK there does still seem to be quite an abundance of survivors around here. Yes, no.13 is located on a building just by one of the gates up to the walls. Great view from up there! Razz
