Atlas superslim restored - end closeup
This was rescued by a mate, who said it was one of two in use in a shed until it was pulled down. Both had been placed at the curb, and he got one with me in mind. He could only carry the one, so when he went back later in the day the second had sadly gone.
The internals was in a right state, but thankfully the ballast escaped rusting. Its another example that had fell to the can o' gloss paint, so it warranted a full strip back and respray.

I havent got one to use as a basis to replicate, else I'd have done just that. Need a better sticker for the Ekco one tbh.

Surprising how well these clean up! Just done one myself, hopefully the paint job will last longer than the rather thin factory version!

yes these only got a waft of paint from the factory on bare steel i think which is why it just crazes up and falls off !

I think BLI used to just run their freshly made, bare steel fixtures past the air vent at the Crompton factory paint booth Laughing

atlantics had a good paint finish, think that was stove enamel, had a high gloss finish and lasted well
