would be interesting to see the discharge colour and characteristics but if its pure butane theres no oxygen for it to burn with sadly LOL

This is how physicist sir J J Thomson started!, taking vacuum tubes and filling them with all different gasses to see if he could get a discharge out of them!

I have to say I'm impressed and quite envious Jon! I've built a few diy fittings but would never think to make discharge lamps. How do you seal the tube?

@FSB That wallpaper has been there since I was a baby. And changing it will be a true nightmare so ive decided to leave it.
