Revo C627/8
Acquired recently, this Revo C627 cast iron bulkhead is of a type I've never seen before, Its certainly a very interesting bulkhead no less, and its in an incredible original condition, still having around 70% of its leaded paint intact and present, a perfect undamaged glass and a very interesting wire guard, which appears to have been dipped in lead. Internally, the lamp holder shows no soot marks from use, and the enamel shows no rusting or chips. Absolutely no screws are seized, everything still turns very freely, despite the obvious lack of grease, leading me to question where it was installed, if it ever was. Before I took these pics, I took the time to soak the asbestos gasket in water, allowing me to safely remove and dispose of it. Of course I've had to wire it up and get it working, for this I drafted in a GLS lamp, anything else really wouldn't be fitting at all.
As for restoration, I'm unsure whether I should just leave it as is, seeing how honest and original it really is.

leave it original, sometimes re painting fittings kills them when they have character like this

Agreed. I'm not really a fan of complete paint strips and repaints when they are in reasonable nick. Like you say, you loose a bit of the history and character.

Beast!, has to be some sort of marine application maybe? Cool

Nah, they just built them to last back then! Laughing
