Thorn 2DXJ16

Another of the few bulkheads that Thorn first made with a 2D option, the 2DXJ16 is a very heavy affair of a fitting, comprising of a very thick, double sided ribbed glass, a pressed metal base and a nice magnetic ballast. They came with a few options, 2D or twin GLS arrangement, square or circular in shape. Very rare, and pretty dated by today's standards, many of these have been removed. The earlier variants of these bulkheads that predate the 2D lamp came with a twin GLS arrangement, and a thinner base. again rare today. The design actually dates back to the days of Atlas.
The example in the collection is NOS, and came from a house not far from where I live. It came in a very scrappy box, thankfully intact, but sadly without its original lamp. A quick power up though, and its working as expected.
