Coughtrie SW6
Another wellglass brought closer to completion is this Coughtrie SW6. It was found at a reclamation yard with its original clear glass and wellglass ring at a dead cheap price. I immediately bought it home and begun swapping things about to make it a unique, all round different take on what is a classic Coughtrie design.

A few years prior to me buying the light, I had found (and bought) a very unusual prismatic wellglass, originally intended for my SW10. Upon finding that it was too small, it ended up being put safe, and almost forgotten about. As soon as the SW6 was brought home, I immediately tested the glass for size, and found it to be of an almost matching size. Its diameter is only a few millimetres smaller, and its height is about 10mm shorter, but it fits, and looks brilliant. Finally, I sourced a wide brim reflector, which to me looks very correct and adds so much more to what was just a plain old light. But to perfect the light now, I now need to find the optional cage that could be fitted to these. Does anyone here have one spare or know of one please?

I like this old design, they remind me of the very early GEC First Town GLS lanterns from 1914! Cool
