Ah memories of school and seeing this in most classrooms also Memories of the Ever Ready factories
So rare to see a old T12 with a fat ass black sock on it now! In fact I don’t think we’re even allowed to say that anymore LOL
Fucking love a big old sock on EOL tubes like! I had a GB GE F75W go EOL in my SRS PP just before Christmas, i switched it on in the morning and all was fine went to dans for the day came home and it was shimmering with a big fuck off sock at the none etch end!

Was it banded or anything before liam? Worn up? I don’t recall seeing this one having any marks at all on it it’s a GB made Philips this one.

It was clear with no shimmer no banding etc it just went within the space of 12 hours like! Some of the GB GE did the same in school too, they would be fine in the morning at dinner they would get a slight flicker at one of the ends and by home time it was EOL, Others had a slight flicker for a good week or 2 before they went EOL witch i find strange like.

Look how quick that Osram 58W/23 failed in the moorlite last weekend liam.
Aye i know like, id of thought that German 23 would of had another 2-3 weeks in that!
Reminds me when I used to re lamp stuff at my school. Tons of SRS back then and yea, could have a tube that looked fine in the morning, slight flicker later in the day and dead by the evening
At least these ARE safe.

SRS & quick start fittings really got the most out of tubes
