Used to see these everywhere over the crossings, usually running MH but sometimes SON. All gone for you know what now though Sad

Yeah, sadly these are becoming rare to come across these days. Luckily, the council have no plans of starting a mass replacement scheme, so these ones should be safe for now.

They performed really well too, the crossings were really visible with a bright defined strip of light over them, especially when they were MH in SOX and SON lit streets. Now they've been changed for LED the only thing you can see is slightly brighter patch of light below them an it's all 4000K.

Indeed. I really hate it when they use 4000K LEDs for zebra crossings too. Plus it doesn’t help that they used Ampera Minis on 8m columns where I live, they’re almost the same brightness as the existing LED lanterns, but dimmer. Some councils I’ve seen however use 5700K LEDs for zebra crossings on roads lit with 4000K LEDs.

Yeah it looks horrible, and all these cold colours they insist on using now. The streets looked so much nicer lit by the warm glow of SOX and SOX with 3000K or 4000K MH used at the crossings and like likes of warm white cosmo where white street lighting was used.
