Looks like it could do with a new coat of BS381C 694 Dove Grey

yes, it is rusty, but it was like that when i fitted it. Theres a story with this fitting, i knicked it from a derelict victorian school that was owned by a brewery, it had been derelict for years, leaked water and was full of pigeon shit. this was in 1989 and i strapped it to a push bike with cable and cycled all the way home with it lol!!!!!

Haha, brilliant! I've taken stuff home on a bike many a time when I was younger. Mostly skip or demolition finds in the days that the demo crews would just let you go in and wander round. Remember being let into a massive old vehicle body works which was demolished around 1993 to make way for a new Texas Homecare store. I'd have been 13-14 at the time and rushed back from school to go get some more lights. Demo crew let me in every evening and offered to help remove anything I couldn't reach!

Yeh I remember being in school and being given a load of CDM down lighters from a demo crew! Got 8' fittings from my old school which is now gone!

Haha, I can remember recovering a fitting from the guys on a demo site on my way to middle school. No-where else to put it, so I took it with me and asked the headmaster if I could leave it somewhere safe for the day. Got a bollocking from him for my trouble and parents got a phone call. My mother told him to stop being an idiot and start acting like a teacher. She never liked that guy!

Some teachers are just over grown school kids.

I got my own back years later when I got called out to replace the break glass in a fire alarm callpoint at a local church. Turns out that my former middle school had hired it for their Christmas concert and that muppet of a head had pressed it, thinking it was to operate the auto door. Was quite clearly labelled 'FIRE' something I took great delight in pointing out. He was sacked a year later when the school went into special measures.
