Philips SDW-TF 100W

Here you can see a rather intresting lamp. It is a 100W inside frosted SDW-T white HPS lamp made by Philips. These lamps were made as test for a german fixture manufacterer but never become a final product.
There is however a medium screw version of this SDW-TF lamp that is sold in Japan.

I still have spares of these lamps for trade

It is interesting to see. Certainly a first for me. This is a lamp I’d be very interested in seeing lit certainly against a clear SDW-T lamp should you ever make any future meets…

Never seen a frosted one before. That said, the clear ones were not really that common. I remember a UK supermarket used to use them to light the fruit & veg, but aside from that, not really something I remember seeing used that much.

These were rather common in germany. Simply because we have a lots of small much or less independant bakeries and these are perfect for lighting of bread. The bakery light tended to be spots with the smaller sdw-tg mini lamps for the back wile the counters with small breads were lit by open pendants using SDW-T lamps. These lamps were likely trial lamps as a low glare version for these lights. The smaller sdw-TG mini lamps were also used with a dicroic filter in butcher shops.
