slyspark, these are the only 5 foot BLI SRS units ive ever come accross, the black ones were out of 1968 single pop packs with slotted trough reflectors, the white one out of a single diffuser fitting, all have a 8.4uf cap in series

I've come across these before quite a few times but sadly they do fail!

I bet the failures are caused by the "internal suppressor fitted" going short circuit. Nasty unreliable things.
