New fluorescent gear tray for Beta 5 MK12
Here I have converted a 2008 MK12 Thorn Beta 5 from SOX to 2x8w Fluorescent. I made a new gear tray and kept the SOX gear tray intact so it could be very easily converted back to SOX one day with little trouble. This replaces the 18w SOX Philips XWC that has become troublesome this last 8 months. It currently has a couple of well used 8w Sylvania tubes from the late 80s/early 90s as I didn't want to use any of my really old tubes. Of course I would never do this to an older Beta 5!

Take it you didn`t fancy a series twin version?, better if one tube fails first though?

I had these ballasts available was the main reason I went for this though there is the advantage if one tube fails.
