this was found on the floor under that 8 foot twin atlantic i've shown on other photos, this must have been the original tube. Never seen a brass cap in this style before

yes, i remember this pair of tubes in the fitting with Clipluve, about 1991, then some moron shot at it with a shot gun !!!! derelict building you see

Incredibly rare, I am glad to see you at least save the end even if it is only 8 inch instead of 8 foot! The Enfield date code is practically useless for older lamps since it runs on a 5-year cycle. This was made in the 1st week of January 53, 58, 63, 68 etc. Being marked Double Life I would expect it to be one from the 60s, but its rare to see such a deep cap in use at that time. Perhaps they were only used on the 8' tubes.
