Flat Eterna fluorescent light with flat ballast.
|
Bought these must be 15 years ago from B&Q and used them for years on the top of the kitchen cupboards in mum's kitchen to give a gentle light onto the ceiling. Been stored o
in the loft since moving but they are going to be used again in my living room under the shelves with a 2700k triposphor tube. They are perfect for this. They have an unusual ballast which is of a 'flat' design. The switch is of poor quality and has been wired out as it's not required. They are plastic, so note the thermal fuse in top of the ballast. They always remind me of the fluorescent lights that ships have.

That smoking HF one sounds rather dodgy! At least the full sized HF ballasts mostly have metal casings so can't do too much damage!
