GEC 5ft Batten (restored)
I rescued this batten when I was a paper boy and the shop had a separate depot for the paper rounds across the road. This was in the office where there was a computer which managed the 19 paper rounds. They moved the paper rounds to the back of the shop and closed the depot to save money. Here it is seen restored.

Thanks, I'm so glad I saved this fitting, had it since summer 1990.

Yeah be sentimental to you is it?

Just glad I saved it as they are quite rare now. There is an old fashioned barbers near here that still has a 4ft version in daily use in the window. There have been other things I haven't saved that I really wish I had now.

I could write quite a list of things I wished I had saved now! I have been surprised at just how quickly a lot of this kind of stuff has become rare!
