Spring loaded TEI lampholders
Have always loved these lampholders, real quality! Had some many years ago but lost them when I went through the impartial and not that interested stage of my lighting interest in my 20s. These came from a Leyland National bus, the once very common smokey, noisey single decker buses with the spinning fan visible through a grill at the back. The lighting was through the center of the bus behind large rectangular translucent panels, a very tidy arrangement.

Nice one, Had been wondering who made these. Also used on some GPO Telephone Exchange fittings too.

Also used in some fluorescent street lanterns, that's where my original set came from.

I remember those buses. I know those lampholders too. I have an old 4' twin quickstart fitting that used them. When they failed to make reliable contact with the tube pins, much to my shame I threw them away, assuming them to be spark-eroded and beyond repair. I have since realised that they make contact on the pin ends and all I needed to do (probably) was file the ends of the pins.

Soldering the pins of the tube seems to help too. I was having trouble with poor contact between the pins of some Sylvania tubes and end-contact 'Rock' lamp holders. No amount of filing seemed to cure it, but after soldering the pins I haven't had any further issues
