MK 711 WHI fluorescent shaver light
An Ebay win, I bought this MK fluorescent Shaver light for the bathroom that I am decorating at the moment. I knew I would be getting a good solid light and made sure it was fluorescent as many people get confused between the tungsten strip lights and fluorescent tubes. What was a real surprise was the T12 15w Atlas tube, The picture did not include the tube, what a fantastic surprise! I think I have only seen one of these once before at Cambridge University student accommodation when visiting my brother in 1995, but they were never that common compared to the tungsten strip lights, I guess because of the cost.

Love the way the ballast is marked 'phase' and 'lamp', like it matters! Very nice find I love this. Hope to find something for my bathroom when I eventually get around to refurbishing it

Ha ! In Eltam, the "classic" 36W ballast of the Eco series (the big assembly machine i got from them) was called "Eco 36.60.60" (Series name, lamp power, core length, temperature rise). A few years later they changed the naming scheme for all their ballasts to match the VS scheme, and so it became "L 36.105" (ballast type letter, wattage, VS part number), and made new etch stamps for everything. In the new etch, the "L" marking (for Phase) was changed from being on one terminal to being on the other. Nothing changed in the actual ballast construction at all !
