Linked Diffusers A local church hall pre-lockdown. They have 4 rows of 12 tubes and as you can see not many working! Closer inspection reveals that alternate fittings have yellowed diffusers, suggesting that not all are used often. Looking at the multi-gang grid switch, there are 4 key switches and 4 switches, which I'd guess mean 4 rows are not allowed general use to save money. Whatever happens I'd love to get in and have a relamp!

Would make sense to have alternate fittings switched. You don’t need full output all of the time.

Interesting way of wiring them. Normally they would just be switched in rows which would do a similar job.

Yea, that's begging for a relamp! I bet originally, you could just turn the whole lot on, which would have been really bright. Anyone using the hall, not paying the electricicy bill, would have just stuck the whole lot on, so I bet it wasn't long before the key switches came along. The yellowing on every other diffuser I would say, shows they've been switched this way for ages. Have to see if you can get in there with some tubes. Are these switch-start or SRS? That lot firing up on SRS gear would be awesome, but I bet they're not.
