FaiLED Ampera A nice display of the increasingly common failing becoming apparent on Plymouth's Amperas. Only affecting the 32/48 chip versions this appears to be down to being ovetdriven by the 700ma gear. This particular example also was full of water and dayburning which helps lol.

This is what I have been banging on about to certain members on this site! I personally think that over the next few years ALL the 32/48 are going to need to be replaced / modified lol. Stick with SON!

LOL Davy, funny you should put this up, whilst coming home from a boxing day party last night, one of our Amperas, (that have been up for just under a month), was just a dim glow!, and thats in just 3 weeks!, Holophanes Factor large are far better than these, Urbis now need a multi million pound claim to go against them now, THEN the penny will drop!

here no amperas are used by council only trunk roads contractor. holophane factor large replaced ma50s so far all good no failures and quite bright

What a shoddy made piece of junk! It is very annoying that millions of pounds of taxpayers' money are being spent on this shite especially when it has replaced older and reliable lanterns that were in perfect working order.

Older lanterns. Some of them barely. Some of the iridiums were as new as 2013 and still thrown in the skip!

In my opinion, the Amperas look nice, but the reliability is awful.
