Enormous box for tiny item
We have all had things posted to us which are inadequately packaged, especially from Ebay but this delivery took me by surprise and was at the other extreme! Several boxes, a jiffy bag bubble wrap and airbags for this relatively robust item. It's a replacement Synchro motor for a central heating control valve which means we have hot water again.

Looks almost the same as the geared servomotors used in industrial printing machines!

This is a 6w 5 RPM mains motor which holds a spring loaded valve open. They tend to blow every 7 years or so, I knew that was wrong straight away when there was no hot water but there was heat to the radiators.

I think the worst case I had where postage is concerned was when someone sent me a hard drive in a jiffy bag with no extra padding. It was posted through the letter box and landed on the solid floor. Needless to say it didn't work!

Reminds me of some 18w T8's I ordered off eBay a while ago... They was just packed loose in a big box! Needless to say a few didn't survive but as I only paid a couple of quid I wasn't too fussed.

I remember ordering a box of Thorn 3' 30W that got send as they were no extra bubble wrap just the box of lamps with a postage address on them amazingly they all made it with no damage! Shocked

At least if its OTT packed, you will know it will survive most delivery services!

Yes, I would guess they have had bad experiences with deliveries and have decided not to take any chances.
