Venture 700 watt merc
This has to be the greenest ‘new’ mercury lamp I have!, I pretty sure Venture use a 1950s phosphor on these!

Hello Rich, I'm not an expert on phosphor in the lamps. In visual comparison, it looks to me like an orthophosphate phosphor. Very similar to the phosphor used by NARVA and before BGW from beginning 60s until end of 1974 under the name HQLS „Silberweiß“ (silverwhite), which had a red content of about 5%. A pretty greenish colour.

Thank you for that Olav Very Happy , yes, it makes me wonder where Venture, (or the factory in China that makes them for Venture), even got a 50+ years old phosphor from to even make these! Laughing , I never considered this before, but I am quite happy I got this now having one of the earlier phosphors on! Cool
