rounded end earlier version, 19 date code so could be july 2001? it can't be 1991 as it would be thorn, it can't be 2011. they changed from round to conical ends in 2004 i think. they also introduced the ir coating cap around 1994

cheers Dan, i have several spare of these, one the same as this spare and several later ones with the different end. when ge stopped making them i recognized that they would become rare so i bought the whole set then when i still could.

The change to conical end for high watts E lamps was earlier. I remember we had many problems of imploding 66E and 91E lamps on the outer exhaust machine when I worked there, and the glass dome shape was changed to solve that. I left GE in 1999 and remember making the change so it was certainly before then! Indeed these are really rare in the UK, nearly all were made for export to Belgium and Holland.
