Dutton Locks: Thorn Alpha 9's
While having fun on the River Weaver aboard the vintage steam tug, SS Daniel Adamson, I noticed some old concrete columns (Look CU to me but had G.E.C on the door) with some old gear-in-head Thorn Alpha 9's as we passed through Dutton locks.

They look like they originally had some sort of top-entry tungsten lantern such as a G.E.C Z5500 or similar but at some point in the past they were modified with an awkward looking right-angle adapter so they can be fitted with side-entry Thorn Alpha 9's.

The middle column appears to have either lost it's lanterns or was never converted in the first place to due to the increased output of the SOX lamps.

Stunning, did you also go through Saltersford locks?, they have the same there too, if they still exist?
