Old Mobile Phone Number

Check out the mobile number printed on the packaging of this SL lamp! I remember when my dad first got a mobile in the early 90s with an 08 number.

IIRC when the '07' number format was introduced, these old numbers simply got a 7 added in, so this number would have become 07831xxxxxx?

The land line has the ‘01’ added in too, I remember trying to get used to that at first!, for years the Middlewich area code was 0606, then we had to remember the new 01606!!

When I worked for Royal & Sun Alliance in the early 2000’s, we still had to use one of the old teleprinters for certain documents as they couldn’t be sent over email ect.
