Thorlux Welby 1 x 18w: After.
Ah, now that's a lot better!
Magnetic conversion!
A nice big chunky choke and a Vivatronic starter!
Do you agree?

Ah! A great improvement! I've got some of these, both single and twins. Undecided what I'm going to use them for as yet tho.

Those Vivatronic starters are awesome for converting stuff that you dont want to drill a starter hole in!
I got a single and twin 18w batten when somebody was selling loads of ebay cheap a while ago. No use for them but would be rude not to lol.

I converted a twin version to 2 x 2ft 40w, it worked well as it is wide enough for the ballast.

Yeah these things are massive lol

You dont have to drill starter holes anyway... Problem to leave the starter inside ?

I have to admit, I did wonder about making a pair of twin 2' 40w fittings with the twin ones I got! Just still not sure where I'd use them....

If not twin 40w, then nice mag gear for twin 20's Very Happy There is enough room for independent control gear instead of series.

Excellent mod, great work! I just mounted normal starter holders within the fitting in mine, along with efs starters
