Thorn EMI 8w Minipack FLJ1008

Just rescued out of an old control panel on the scrap heap. It's a bit rough and has a couple of holes drilled in the side, but of course it works fine and should clean up a bit. I've never seen one of these in person before, they don't seem as good as the Fitzgerald mini Lightpacks.

Did these originally come with GE tubes? I wonder why they didn't use Thorn tubes.

I suppose it depends on how old the fitting is and / when it was installef

I think the final productions of this fitting came with the GE tube in the early 90s. Sure I have a NOS one with the GE tube.

@Danny: I mean from the factory. Surprised they didn't use their own tubes or at least use a Thorn etch like Fitzgerald did.
