8w Sylvania Toledo Radiance: Off axis view. Showing the 3/4 profile of the lamp when lit. Most of the light comes from the ring around the outside but tiny etched dots in the transparent disc/light guide give off quite a bit too. The light given off is very soft and glare is minimal due to the large surface area. I might have to get one of the larger ones tbh.

It's certainly a different style of its own but I prefer filament LED lamps.
