Interesting use of bulkhead fittings.
I spotted a dozen of these old Thorn Escorts which are being used to light the maintenance catwalks that service the Mode Wheel Locks at Salford Quays, Manchester. Part of the Manchester ship canal.

These are bulkhead luminaires and I've only ever seen them surface mounted, never like this. They almost look like proper side-entry lanterns!

Photographed from onboard MV Royal Iris of the Mersey back in 2014 so who knows if they are even still there anymore.
Probably been replaced by those dreaded generic 10w LED floods!
