Extremely rare Atlas Alpha 8 lantern
Before the common and widely used Thorn Alpha 8 lantern we all know and love came this completely different version made during the Atlas days. This lantern is one of the few British lanterns to use twin mercury or SON lamps, often with a switching pattern. This particular lantern has likely not worked in many years and (surprisingly for London) appears to have been forgotten about. Sorry about the terrible picture quality, it was getting dark!
