Thorn Dumpy

A very unusual fitting by anyones standards, if not rather ugly, the Dumpy never saw popularity, hence becoming rather rare from day one. They were offered in a very wide range of colours, and were designed to try and brighten up the otherwise boring colour choices so frequently offered then. Taking 1 60w crown silvered lamp, glare issues is not a problem.
the fitting held in the collection came from a charity shop. To find one used is hard enough but to find a NOS one is even harder, so when i saw this whilst rummaging through stuff, I had to pick it up. I've only lit it once, but even though its a crown silvered lamp, light output is extremely good. Not shown in the pic is a table light conversion kit. This comprises of a length of wire with in line switch, and a padded patch to block off what would ordinarily be up against the ceiling.
