LOL thats quite amusing, it reminds me a long time ago when I had a similar low bay body that I managed to squeeze a 35W SOX lamp into quite nicely
I wonder if you could recess the socket so its flush with the "bulkhead" to give it better clearance? I would love to know how this whole setup would stand up if put into use I can see the paint getting a bit cooked!

Well I had to turn it off as the room was getting close to 30c...
I could also smell burning, which was that wardrobe door behind which was almost smoking!
