Finally it has gone quiet after it buzzing loudly during the colder/milder times of the year thanks to the recent summer like temperature of today

Must be a resin filled ballast by the looks of it, I wonder why it doesn't like the cold, perhaps the potting has shrunk in the cold or something?

Most likely to be the potting getting shrunken or slight moisture getting inside but I'm not sure either - anyhow the ballasts that the Philips Streamlites /Crompton Crompack T12s use tend to go on and on for ages Cool

Yeah as long as it carries on and doesn't start RCD tripping it should be fine Cool

Luckily there is no RCD tripping thank goodness Smile

I'm sure it will be fine, if it did ever fail there's plenty of 36/40W chokes about still anyway Smile

Good to know thanks and I got a couple of spare 36w/40w chokes if needed Smile otherwise this fixture been running since my childhood with zilch issues apart from the buzzing noise Smile
