These were sime if the best CFL lamps produced. Lasted ages. Just a shame they were quite bulky in comparison to what they were replacing. Sadly, as lamps got smaller, the quality also got cheaper and they then didn't last nearly as long.

I don’t know?, 6000 hours with the cheaper ones was still a long time?, I’ve never had one of the Chinese genies fail early?, and the later genies (18 watt), were also given 10,000 hours life.

I recall those still lighting in places in the early 00's, and they did not get banding. As for other CFLs it was hit and miss with the noname ones. Some were in fact very long lived, probably as the manufacturers (including small ones, maybe with no abilities to run advanced testing) were not very confident with this and put in big design margins
