Fluorescent streetlighting still in use in France!
Forget your PL lamps, this is proper fluorescent street lighting! I couldn't believe it when I saw a stretch of these in France, from the thickness of the tubes they even look to be T12 which is nothing short of a miracle these days. Sadly I forgot where these are located, it was in the middle of nowhere. Such installations are very rare in France, although I believe are still common in Germany amongst other places.

When fluorescent was big for street lighting, I wonder why nobody ever made a five foot U shaped lamp?
