interesting to see inside these, when i recently cleaned up one of these fittings, the white urea moulding lampholders haveing had years of use, stunk of exactly this ! Its also clear why they went off this complicated idea and went onto the atlantic 3 simple lampholders too

Yes they do stink, id say its more fishy. Certainly enough to make me cough. Certainly very fiddly to put back together too, I feel sorry for the people who had to assemble these back in the day.

this sprung type lampholder was in fashion in the early 60's, many other makes like REVO and AEI made very similar lampholders, they had a habit of burning out too
