Very strangely-mounted Revo "Silverblue" lanterns
I Almost did a double take passing these a couple of days ago when I realised what they were! I had to go back and photograph them. Some very strangely mounted Revo "Silverblue" (smaller model) lanterns in Islington. Now fitted with some horrid looking "corncob" LED lamps Google maps shows they used to burn SON lamps. Shame they have been retrofitted, as these are incredibly rare!

That's certainly strange! You could get away with 35w SOX in these, so long as you mounted the lamp cap up, which from memory, would mean moving the lampholder to the opposite end that it would originally have been installed.

Errr, right? Shocked , this at first looks like an old installation, but one that can’t have originally run LPS lamps?, I wonder if this could have been a more modern ‘retro’ looking installation?

Eww, that's gross. They should've used filament LED lamps here instead if they really wanted LED.
