Osram - GEC 500w projector lamp with E40 cap

Rather an unusual little lamp I found recently! Somewhere I have the larger 1kw version which is of about the same diameter but is considerably longer. This lamp has obviously been used in the past but still seems to be have plenty of life left in it. The E40 cap does look rather out of place on such a small lamp.
