Unusual B22 "time socket" adapter from the late 1980's

For a brief time period in the 1990's and early 2000's such types of adapters were very common, and came in various different varieties, whether it be motion detectors, timers, ones with inbuilt photocells, etc. This one is a very early/primitive example from around 1989-90 and has an inbuilt photocell but instead of being the usual "on/off" variety, this one dims the lamp according to the light level... Needless to say it doesn't work too well!
