4X6w conversion gets a prismatic cover! Lit.
Back in 2024 I was given this ex-emergency light by Jonathan, which I immediately converted to quad 6w, and whilst it turned out perfectly, I still thought the opal cover made it look quite 'normal' so to speak because the tubes weren't visible.

I always wondered what the fitting would look like with a prismatic diffuser fitted instead, and last week I decided to attempt to create my own by ordering some plastic in, cutting it to size, and then created a very ad-hoc line bender to bend the plastic to fit.

What I've been left with is imo nothing short of a tenfold improvement to the way this fitting now looks, it looks so much more modern, and when lit from certain angles it looks like you can see five tubes. Its also remarkably brighter too, and easily lights an area to a good brightness too.

Nice job! That is definitely better, and nice that it is possible to make a new diffuser too, that should remove any issues should it ever become damaged or yellowed with heavy use.
