Soldi and Scatti - Solcam DSC1000

Recently, one of the most unusual lanterns I've ever come across entered the collection. Its made by Ingg. Soldi and Scatti - Solcam, based in Italy, and it takes a 1000w SON lamp. Its condition I would say is NOS, but sadly poorly stored, because overall whilst it's in almost immaculate condition, there's some corrosion on the back of the lantern.

A lantern for 1000w SON is something I didn't think actually existed, so when I saw this for sale I had to have it. One thing that surprised me at the time was how light it is, but that soon becomes apparent when the bowl is opened. Whilst an igniter exists, the ballast doesn't, so I need to find a ballast somewhere.

I have quite a few 1000w lamps, so this will be an ideal lantern to test them in, but I might need to switch everything else off before powering, cause I expect this'll be rather power hungry....
