That’s quite the upgrade I must admit. This is on the same level as kevs dads 125w mercury vapour conversion years ago on LG! lol

This plate was a trauma to drill out, with it being double layered stainless steel I had to take the fitting to work to pillar drill a hole for the 20 mm brass bush, I hadn’t realised how difficult a cone cutter was to go through SS! Shocked , I had to drill slowly to stop the metal getting too hot and turning blue! Rolling Eyes

Those cones aren't made of as good steel as standard HSS drill bits - It would probably go better if drilled with a series of ordinary drills going up in size. And use water or oil

If those everyday kitchen spotlight fixtures would indeed be initally designed for these reflector MV lamps then I'd get one

Recently i found on sale (new, modern, China, local sticker brand importer) some E27 wall spotlights vaguely in Raak style that, while probably are too small to contain even a 80W MBFR, would probably work well with one of the smaller hard glass MH reflector envelopes - Just add gear remotely

Yeah, you could definitely make one or two of these from scratch?, I’m sure you can get SS dishes that you could fashion a light fitting into?, discharge lamp seem to spread light better when above, so I need to try different types in this addition now? It’s feed cable goes to my lamp shelf at the back of the room, so the gear for it can still easily be used as I’m currently doing.

I think drilling it wit a step drill was your best option thu. With standard twis drill you most likely would have get problems wicht shatter and grabbing of the material due to it being so thin. Also most likely your hole would have ended ap slightly triangular ue to that.

Only one.... Come on, could have got a second lamp holder on there I'm sure. A SON reflector in the other would make for a nice colour blend Laughing

I would have went with all being replaced with CDM-R Laughing

Easy, wire the gear to the existing holders and put in EOL halogens

Good god!, can you imagine 6 CDMRs in this Very Happy, it would be like some kind of laser death device! , joking aside, they fit the tiniest little wire to these lamp holders, doubt they would take ongoing ignition voltages?
I did think about 2 Rich, but this was only really designed for my MBFRs, and you can imagine the SS holds the heat a little too well from 125 mercury!, I’ll have to keep checking the wagos in here, and wire for overheating Rolling Eyes
