GEC 5ft Batten (restored, cover removed)
I rescued this batten when I was a paper boy and the shop had a separate depot for the paper rounds across the road. This was in the office where there was a computer which managed the 19 paper rounds. They moved the paper rounds to the back of the shop and closed the depot to save money. Here it is seen restored. Sadly the original ballast developed an earth fault after becoming very vocal, so it is seen here with a replacement VS ballast. Fitting believed to be 1969/1970.
