Thorn 400w SON-TD
NOS Double-ended SON lamp with RX7s caps. Very popular in the 1970's.

Designed to replace and be used in the same luminaires (with an external gearbox) as 1500w linear halogen lamps such as Thorn's Haline series of fittings.
The compactness of this lamp means it can be precisely located very near to the focus of compact ellipsoidal reflectors and thus providing very tight optical control compared with normal single-ended lamps.

I'm surprised that they can still get hold of replacement lamps. Do GE still actually make these?
