This is my 8w fluorescent Picture light, have had it since 2009, does a nice job of lighting this cityscape picture. And yes, it's HF.

A lot of pubs have these! Never had more than a lamp go! What does the ballast look like?

Will take a picture in the morning, I don't remember it being anything recognisable . Doesn't really put the hours in here so wouldn't know about it's reliability.

A lot better than the linear tungsten things or twin candle lamps that you usually see!

I agree with FSB. I've also seen PL-S lamp versions too

I bought this in preference to linear tungsten and it's nice and compact, doesn't dwarf out the picture it lights. Smile

I've also seen the 13W versions in some pubs
