Thorn 100w K16 Halogen

One of the first halogen retrofits developed as a direct replacement for GLS incandescent lamps.
It features an innovative quartz backbone filament support. This allows universal burning operation as previously all linear tungsten-halogen lamps had to be burned horizontally.
The lamp features a Bromine & Iodine atmosphere in order to achieve a 4000 hour lifetime with such a fine filament.
The quartz burner is cemented into a ceramic base and enclosed in a soda lime glass outer envelope.
